David

David is my favorite character in the Bible – imagine having God call you “a man after God’s own heart!” But man, did David live a crazy life. I have taught several Bible studies on his life and I always end up thinking about what it would have been like to be David. What was he thinking? How did he go from being a shepherd to a champion to a general to a king? These are my thoughts on what David’s life may have been like. Of course I take liberties as we do not have all of the information, but I also try to research as much as I can using the Bible, ancient Jewish sources, as well as Jewish lore. I can’t guarantee that anything in here is 100% correct, but I try my best to be consistent with the account in the Bible while filling in the blanks with imagination. I hope you enjoy!
